Job Description

 

This role is to support the manufacture of current products, monitoring quality and making improvements to the production process as a result and implementing design changes on the shop floor.

 

Job Role

  • Involved with the design and building of assembly cells and workbench layouts.
  • Provide build documentation and training for production staff.
  • Involved with creation of line balances, quality control plans.
  • Liaise with R&D to feedback issues from production builds.
  • Design / manufacture / purchase of assembly tooling / jigs / fixtures etc.
  • Day to day production support
  • Updating of processes and documentation triggered by PCNs or production issues.
  • Identify weaknesses with existing methods and action improvements.
  • Shop floor quality data collection, analysis and quality improvement.

 

Attributes Required

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Strong team player and be able to communicate effectively with assembly personnel, management and engineers.
  • Be able to work effectively to tight timescales under pressure, showing initiative where required.
  • Experience in electromechanical assembly environment.
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing methods including 5S, 7 Wastes, problem solving and root cause analysis, process analysis. Work cell design and ergonomics.
  • A flexible approach is required.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum, HND in Mechanical, Electonic or Manufacturing Engineering

 

Preferable

  • Apprenticeship

 

Candidates with experience of: Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Process Engineer, Operations Engineer, Production Projects Engineer, Quality Engineer and Project Management, will also be considered for this role
