Foster & Freeman expand in Europe

The company is pleased to announce that it has enlarged its German office by taking on more staff and moving to larger premises. The changes are designed to improve the service the company offers in mainland Europe. The move will coincide with the formation of Foster Freeman (Europe) GmbH, a subsidiary of the parent company.

As well as offices, the new spacious premises will include product demonstration rooms, conference facilities for up to twenty delegates and a workshop for servicing and testing products. "Having a fully functional sales office and a well equipped workshop in mainland Europe will improve our customer response dramatically," commented Bob Dartnell, General Manager of Foster & Freeman. "Sales and service visits that used to be made from the UK will now take much less time"

Sales to Europe have increased steadily since the company was first established in 1978 but have accelerated during the last two years as new products, such as the VSC2000, have been launched. This expansion has meant that it is now impracticable for the company to trade entirely from the UK and a new company, Foster & Freeman (Europe) GmbH, has been formed in Germany, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the parent company through which local business will be conducted.

Norbet Jaufmann, Foster & Freeman's German agent for the last two years, has agreed to join the subsidiary company as Sales Director to support Bob Dartnell who takes up the post of Managing Director. They will be assisted by sales support engineer, Clare Smithies, and a newly appointed sales adminstrator. Norbert confirmed that the volume of business in Europe more than justified the cost of maintaining the larger office.
