UK Immigration Authority
orders 100 VSC4PLUS
As part of a continuing programme to reduce illegal migration
into the United Kingdom, the Immigration and Nationality
Directorate, the UK government's agency responsible for
immigration control, has placed a contract with
Foster & Freeman for the supply of its latest passport
examination system, the VSC4PLUS. The contract calls for the
delivery of 100 instruments to various immigration control
centres throughout the country. The contract was won on a
number of issues which included technical functionality, product
reliability, comprehensive training schedules and the provision
of field maintenance during and after warranty.
This is the second major contract the UK Immigration authorities
have placed with the company. The first, for 58 VSC4C
instruments, a precursor of the VSC4PLUS, was placed in 2001.
