Microscope constructed with the CV/5K

High resolution imaging with the CV/5K |
An
auxiliary firewire colour video camera for use with the VSC 5000
This 3×CCD firewire video camera has
a digital output of 1360×1024 pixels per colour and is compatible
with Foster & Freeman's high resolution VSC 5000 document
examination workstation. When mounted onto a suitable microscope
the CV/5K is capable of generating high magnification images
for input to the VSC 5000.
A typical video microscope constructed
with the CV/5K and the VSC 5000 provides high resolution images
with magnification up to 500× on the 21" display monitor:
Images from the CV/5K, once captured
and stored in the VSC 5000 may be examined or processed by:
- side by side comparison
- superimposition of live and stored
images
- variable speed strobe
- image subtraction
- left to right reversal (horizontal
mirror image)
- top to bottom reversal (vertical mirror
image)
- grey level reversal (position to negative)
- image rotation through 90°
- Contrast stretch
- noise reduction filters (de-speckle)
- measurement, including distances, angles,
areas and radii of features.
