Examinations with eye-D are made visually with the aid of an integral magnifying lens

A new low cost system for checking security documents

Designed for checking standard security features on a wide range of documents including banknotes, passports and identity cards, the eye-D is a low cost system that can be deployed in large numbers, to improve national and border security.

Featuring a compact, lightweight design and a padded carrying case that unfolds to provide light shielding, the eye-D is easily carried for use in any location. It can be operated using either standard AC mains power or a 12V DC source such as a vehicle cigarette lighter.

Examinations with eye-D are made visually with the aid of an integral magnifying lens using various modes of illumination. These include transmitted light for revealing watermarks and metallic threads, oblique lighting for checking embossed stamps, coaxial lighting for examining retro-reflective security features and long wave incident UV for activating fluorescent features, as well as for comparing the levels of paper fluorescence.

eye-D features:

  • Portable, approximate weight of just 7kg
  • Padded carry case holds all cables and folds to provide light shielding
  • 360 x 220mm tilted examination area
  • Universal power input uses 100 to 240VAC for go-anywhere operation
  • 12V DC power input to allow operation from a vehicle cigarette socket (plug and leads supplied)

Optional extras include transmitted long wave UV, a high intensity transmitted white spot light for revealing obliterated information or photo- substitutions and a x10 external magnifier with flexible arm for examining micro printing.
