1,8-Diazafluoren-9-one, commonly referred to as DFO, is widely used for the treatment of fingerprints on porous materials.


A primary feature of DFO is that it reacts with amino acids to form a highly fluorscent fingerprint that can be excited under green or orange illumination without the need for any sequential treatments

Improved clarity may be obtained using DCS 4 enhancement techniques.
