TECHNOLOGY FOR THE ANALYSIS OF TRACE EVIDENCE

Gunshot Residues (GSR)

GSR detection, identification and characterisation has, in the past, been a costly and time consuming process for forensic investigators. New technologies being pioneered by Foster + Freeman have greatly reduced both the time and cost of this process while delivering excellent results.

Crime-lite Blue, Blue/Green and Infrared light sources are useful tools for the detection of GSR while Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy offers a fast method of identification.
