Ink Stamps
The process of stamping a document using a 'rubber stamp' coated with ink, as a means of authentication, is common to many industries. Ink stamps can be seen on security documents including passports, Visas, certificates and many forms of business document. Attempts to forge ink stamps on a document can be detected under high magnification. The colour and distribution of ink, quality of print and subsequent clarity of letters, shapes and lines can all indicate the use of a fraudulent stamp. Stamps may also be examined under UV or infrared illumination to reveal optical variations in different types of ink.
