TECHNOLOGY FOR QUESTIONED DOCUMENT EXAMINATION

Invisible Personal Information (IPI)

Invisible Personal Information (IPI) is a technology that allows personal data to be embedded within a photograph that is printed on a document such as a passport or ID card.

Providing protection against the replacement or alteration of a photograph, IPI data is invisible to the naked eye and  typically contains personal information about the owner of a document including name, date of birth, passport number etc.

Using an optional software plug-in, Foster + Freeman VSC systems decode embedded IPI data using Scrambled Indicia Technology supplied under licence from Graphic Security System Corp. (GSSC) of the USA.
